This program of study provides students an academic curriculum that prepares them for entry into a college Health Professions Education Program and a certification for a health related job. During the students' senior year they will be provided the opportunity to take certification courses within the TCC Health Profession Continuing Education Program. Upon successful completion of the required certification courses, the students will be eligible to take a certification exam.
Identified courses will be taken at the TCC Trinity River Campus or Trinity River East Campus, which will allow students to interact with instructors with experience and knowledge of health professions in a unique, hands-on environment. Upon completion of the two year program students will have the opportunity to earn 42 college credits and meet high school graduation requirements.
Important things to note:
MISD will provide transportation.Tuition will be the same as is currently in place, $65/course. There will be an additional fee for the certification course/exam that is yet to be determined.Goal is to recruit 20-48 students per year.
