FAFSA CHECKLIST

Apply for the FAFSA starting October 1, 2017 to determine student eligibility for federal and state aid such as grants, work study, and loans:

  • Filed Federal Income Tax forms for 2016
  • Create FSA ID - Go to www.fsaid.ed.gov
  • You will need the following information (about students and parents):
    • Dates of Birth
    • Addresses
    • Household Size
    • Social Security number or Alien Registration number
    • Completed FAFSA for 2018-2019 - Go to www.fafsa.gov

FuriousGrill is offering a $1000 "Eat Healthy Scholarship" to one winning applicant for 2017. Applicants must be in either high school or college.

Reagan Legacy Republican Women Scholarship - May 7, 2018

The Reagan Legacy Republican Women Scholarship is now available in the Ben Barber Innovative Academy/Frontier HS front office.  Deadline to submit is May 7, 2018.

Typology Central Personality Type Scholarship - June 23, 2018

The 2018 Typology Central Personality Type Scholarship is now available here http://www.typologycentral.com/forums/scholarship.php.  Applications must be submitted by June 23, 2018.

Chisholm Trail 100 Club Scholarship - March 27, 2018

Chisholm Trail 100 Club is a 501c3 organization dedicated to supporting the First Responders of Johnson and Somervell counties. Part of its support is an offering of a scholarship for the dependents of First Responders. To qualify the applicant must be a dependent of a First Responder who serves in Johnson County, Somervell County and for the City of Mansfield.

The scholarship is an initial $1,000 with an opportunity for an additional $1,000 per year up to a total of 4 years. 

The postmark deadline is March 27, 2018.

AreaVibes 2018 Scholarship - May 31, 2018

The AreaVibes 2018 Scholarship is now available at:   http://www.areavibes.com/scholarships/
In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States.
  • Must be 16 - 25 years old.
  • Provide your 250 word essay – "How does livability play a factor in selecting a college?"
Application deadline is May 31, 2018. A winner will be chosen by the June 15, 2018.

See It Through Charities Scholarship - April 20, 2018

See It Through Charities Scholarship Application is now available.

To qualify:

  • Student must be a graduating high school student in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex.
  • Student must a letter of recommendation from a school administrator (principal, counselor, teacher, coach)
  • Student must show proof of acceptance into a four-year college or university.
  • Student must submit the official scholarship application along with all the other required documents (i.e. official transcript, SAT/ACT scores, letter of recommendation, and essay).
  • Student must be a US citizen.

Deadline date for application submission is April 20, 2018.

Penrose Foundation of Fort Worth - Hispanic Students - May 7, 2018

The Penrose Foundation of Fort Worth has made available a scholarship to Hispanic students who have made at least a 1000 on the SAT (2 parts total),or equivalent ACT scores.  Forms must be postmarked by May 7, 2018, and are in the FHS main office.

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship

The Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship program is now accepting applications.  Please visit application.horatioalger.org to apply.
